It's been a while since I've posted on the blog (due to becoming a real person and starting my career in PR), but I'm back! This past year I've traveled to Israel, Greece, Czech Republic, France, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and the Dominican Republic, and I'm ready for the adventures 2016 has in store for me.
One of my favorite perks of our office being across from Bryant Park is that it makes the winter time a little more bearable. The Winter Village is a mini winter wonderland right in Midtown, where you'll find ice skating, food vendors, hand-made jewelry boutiques and more. Here are my top must-try vendors that are perfect for grabbing a bite on your lunch break.
Your favorite childhood dish just got a lot…healthier. New food vendor Super Mac + Cheez has taken the traditional comfort food of mac and cheese and eliminated the cheese. The dish is still delicious-it's just vegan, meaning it is free of meat, eggs, dairy and other animal- derived ingredients.
Soup for the Soul, another vegan choice, offers bread bowl soups and unique paninis. Perfect for warming up with bold flavors and spices this winter.
Stop by Enfes Turkish Foods to create your own gozleme (a traditional savory Turkish flatbread filled with various toppings). I added feta cheese, spinach, chickpeas, and tomatoes in my hot-pressed gozleme to make a perfect lunch time dish.
Sweet Maresa's is a must-try at the village and the perfect way to end your lunch break with something sweet. Try a couple on your walk back to the office (maybe the Cannoli or Gingerbread macaroons) and keep the rest to snack on throughout your day for some energy.
